Buyer II – Procurement & Planning Specialist

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner to manage sourcing, convert purchase requisitions into orders, and ensure on‑time delivery for manufacturing operations. You will act as the bridge between demand planning, suppliers, and internal teams, maintaining optimal inventory while supporting production schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute purchasing activities, including inventory management, material follow‑up, and vendor negotiations.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships focused on cost reduction, quality, and on‑time delivery.
• Create and manage purchase order tracking systems, alerting management when orders are filled and invoices are issued.
• Conduct RFQs for active, passive, and electromechanical components and evaluate supplier quotations.
• Verify receipt of materials, approve invoices, and ensure compliance with SAP lead‑time and pricing data.
• Collaborate with engineering and the Purchasing Manager to identify alternate components when lead times are excessive or parts become obsolete.
• Provide technical support to vendors, answering questions and supplying necessary documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of supply‑chain concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to prioritize multiple vendors and tasks with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced, high‑stress setting.
