Buyer – Global Procurement Central Services

About the role

Amazon’s Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) team is looking for a Buyer to support fulfillment centres across a cluster. The role ensures a steady supply of non‑inventory packaging goods and services, delivering value for money and preventing stock‑outs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily forecasts and manage materials for packaging supplies.
• Create purchase orders and liaise with suppliers to secure timely deliveries.
• Coordinate truck deliveries, schedule time slots and communicate schedules to receiving teams.
• Act as escalation point to ensure off‑loading meets agreed timelines.
• Collaborate with operations and on‑site procurement teams to mitigate space constraints.
• Drive down invoice‑on‑hold requests and support other regional buyers.
• Provide training to new buyers and deliver procurement metrics, cost‑savings and KPI targets.
• Perform compliance checks on purchase requisitions, manage procurement catalogs and onboard new vendors.

Required profile

• Advanced English proficiency (CEFR B2/C1).
• Experience with MS Office, especially MS Excel.
• Background in procurement, purchasing or supplier relationship management.
• Fluency in Italian, Japanese, German or Arabic is a plus.
