Buyer (B3)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Buyer to manage the procurement of materials, supplies, machinery and services for its cutting‑edge manufacturing facilities in Bangalore. The role requires close collaboration across engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams to ensure seamless supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Execute and manage pull‑ins/push‑outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing and program managers.
• Drive purchasing activities to obtain the lowest cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Lead inventory and excess & obsolete (E&Z) reduction efforts.
• Manage assigned purchasing projects, controlling cost, schedule and scope.
• Handle complex and sensitive information with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to purchasing process improvements and act as a trainer for department activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2‑4 years of procurement or purchasing experience.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices, key business drivers and marketplace competition (preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership skills to lead small projects and build consensus (preferred).
