Business FinOps Specialist (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Business FinOps Specialist will support Zinnia’s finance operations by providing financial planning, analysis, and reporting for corporate P&L lines. You will interpret business challenges, recommend best practices, and stay informed of industry trends that affect tax and accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile payments and accounts based on remittance documents.
• Manage daily withholding balances and ensure tax reconciliations are accurate.
• Oversee tax reporting for annuity products, including premiums, payouts, interest, and principal returns.
• Prepare and review tax filings such as 1099‑R in compliance with IRS and regulatory standards.
• Execute daily, monthly, and quarterly tax treatment activities for annuity distributions.
• Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and legal teams to ensure consistent tax calculations.
• Address taxability issues for death benefits and beneficiary reporting.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in tax treatment and drive process improvements.
• Maintain internal controls, regulatory compliance, and up‑to‑date documentation.

Required profile

• Graduation in any stream; Commerce graduate preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the life‑insurance domain with a focus on accuracy and accountability.
• Strong knowledge of overall accounting functions, including general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Experience setting up federal, state and local tax withholding for employees and ensuring compliance with U.S. tax regulations.
