Business Development Officer – Food Service (Kolkata)

About the role

The Business Development Officer – Food Service in Kolkata will drive sales growth and achieve business targets across the assigned territory, focusing on distributor networks and the HORECA segment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage distributors and sub‑distributors, driving primary and secondary sales performance within the assigned territory.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Hotels, Restaurants, Cafés, and other Food Service customers.
• Expand the customer base by identifying and acquiring new Food Service accounts.
• Achieve assigned sales targets, volume objectives, and business development goals.
• Drive distributor development, order placement, claims management, and overall commercial hygiene.
• Monitor customer‑wise secondary sales performance and provide accurate sales reporting.
• Lead and support promoters and supervisors to strengthen McCain Food Service business growth.
• Execute customer activations, trade promotions, product listings, and sampling initiatives.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, distributor appointments, and town expansion opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure service excellence and successful execution of business plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the FMCG industry, preferably within the HORECA or Food Service channel.
• Strong knowledge of business planning, sales planning, and distributor management.
• Proven ability to acquire new customers while growing existing business relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing sales claims and distributor operations.
• Excellent customer relationship management and communication skills.
• Ability to drive results in a dynamic and competitive market environment.
• Demonstrated strengths in customer focus, collaboration, accountability, resilience, and delivering results.
