Business Development Manager

About the role

GCQ Certifications is seeking a full‑time Business Development Manager to drive growth of its certification, auditing, training and risk‑assessment services across key industries. The role is based on‑site in Kerala, India and focuses on generating new business opportunities and nurturing client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect, qualify and convert leads for ISO management systems, food safety, HSE and risk‑assessment services.
• Schedule and attend client meetings, prepare proposals and negotiate contracts in line with company policies.
• Collaborate with technical and auditing teams to tailor solutions and ensure smooth hand‑over to delivery.
• Maintain a sales pipeline, track performance metrics and produce forecasts using CRM tools.
• Conduct market research, identify growth opportunities and represent the company at networking events and industry forums.
• Manage key accounts, nurture long‑term relationships and gather client feedback for service improvement.

Required profile

• Proven business development and sales experience, including lead generation and contract negotiation.
• Ability to explain ISO, food safety, HSE and risk‑assessment services in client‑focused language.
• Strong market research, opportunity analysis and strategic planning capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in certification, auditing or consulting services is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Kerala and travel locally to meet clients and attend events.
