Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with architects, interior designers, key influencers and major accounts. The role focuses on expanding market share for decorative and architectural lighting, premium fans, and related retail offerings within the assigned territory.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and nurture relationships with architects, interior designers, influencers and key accounts.
• Drive secondary sales of lighting and fan products through residential, hospitality and retail projects.
• Identify and map new sites, influencers and decision‑makers to meet sales targets.
• Manage and develop the LASM team, reviewing productivity, training needs and turnover.
• Maintain collection periods, submit regular MIS reports and coordinate with HR, sales administration, IT, supply chain and service teams.
• Address partner pain‑points, escalate bottlenecks and provide market feedback on competition and product improvements.
• Ensure gross margin and profitability of brand stores, and increase billing frequency.
• Organise engagement programs for influencers and architects to boost brand confidence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or sales within the lighting, décor or fan industry.
• Strong people‑management skills, including coaching and performance monitoring.
• Ability to analyse market data, scan sites and track competitor activity.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building capabilities with design professionals and key accounts.
