Business Development Executive (FMCG)

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Executive to drive growth for our FMCG portfolio in Gangtok. The role focuses on identifying new opportunities, generating leads and building strong relationships with distributors and retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the assigned territory.
• Generate and manage leads, maintain a sales pipeline and follow up with prospects.
• Build and nurture relationships with distributors, retailers and key partners.
• Conduct market research, monitor competitor activities and provide insights.
• Support the planning and execution of sales and promotional strategies to increase market share.
• Manage accounts, ensure timely order placement, fulfillment and monitor sales performance.
• Prepare regular reports and share performance metrics with management.
• Collaborate closely with marketing and supply‑chain teams for effective product placement and visibility.

Required profile

• Proven experience in new business development and business growth within FMCG, food products or consumer goods.
• Strong lead generation, prospecting and pipeline management abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated account management experience, including relationship building and performance monitoring.
• Ability to work independently in the field with solid planning, time‑management and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in basic MS Office tools; familiarity with CRM or sales‑tracking systems is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce or a related field preferred.
