Build Release Engineer

About the role

In4Velocity is looking for a detail-oriented, technically strong Build Release Engineer to manage and improve its software release processes. You will work closely with development and QA teams to automate and streamline the release of products. The role is based in Bangalore and suits someone with 5 to 8 years of experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end release lifecycle, from build through deployment.
• Create and maintain release branches, tagging and versioning using Git (e.g. Cruise Control, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Maintain and document release procedures and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards (release documents).
• Troubleshoot build and deployment failures and provide root cause analysis.
• Support multiple environments (dev, staging, production) and ensure consistency across them.
• Automate manual tasks to reduce human error and increase release velocity.
• Maintain tools used for software configuration management and build systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in compliance-heavy environments such as ISO and SOC2.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and good communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Cruise Control and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with technical languages such as .NET and MS SQL.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
• Good knowledge of version control, build systems and release automation.
