Branch Cashier – Full‑time

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations in accordance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time role ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and provides courteous service to branch customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain and update inward/outward registers, petty‑cash registers and asset registers.
• Perform daily cash tallying, end‑of‑day reporting and vault reconciliation.
• Handle cash vault operations jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑sell opportunities and educate them on new products.
• Ensure compliance with TAT, bank policies and regulatory requirements for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity during withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• UG degree in any discipline, preferably Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions.
• Experience with financial modules/ERP for entry and consolidation of accounting data.
• Knowledge of banking regulations, KYC principles and cash‑handling best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and customer service standards.
