Branch Cashier – Full‑time

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role ensures accurate processing, proper record‑keeping, and end‑of‑day reconciliation while delivering courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain corresponding system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, identify cross‑sell opportunities and update them on new products and services.
• Escalate customer queries and grievances promptly to the appropriate authority.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, bank policies and defined turnaround times for transactions.
