Branch Cashier – Full‑time

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations for the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, maintains registers, and supports the overall efficiency of branch operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, reconcile transactions, and prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash department with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote bank products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.

Required profile

• Ability to execute cash transactions accurately according to banking guidelines.
• Experience in maintaining cash registers and performing daily reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail for verifying transaction authenticity and audit requirements.
• Customer‑focused attitude with the capability to handle inquiries and cross‑sell services.
• Commitment to adhere to compliance, security, and operational procedures.
