Branch Cashier (Full-time)

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations in accordance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role includes maintaining accurate registers, performing end‑of‑day reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with bank policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, providing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposits, updating the system accordingly.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain related entries.
• Maintain inward/outward, petty cash and assets registers, and forward requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare the End‑of‑Day Branch report and jointly manage the vault with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, promote cross‑selling opportunities and explain repayment dates and contact details.
• Count and verify cash at the start and end of each day, safeguarding cash, keys and valuables in collaboration with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies for all cashier operations.

Required profile

• Any graduate degree, preferably in Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions in a banking or financial environment.
• Familiarity with financial modules/ERP and experience consolidating accounting data.
