Branch Cashier – Full-time

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations in accordance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role ensures accurate processing of cheques, drafts, cash deposits and withdrawals, and performs end‑of‑day reconciliations for the branch.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, and issue acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests, collect cash against deposit challans, and maintain related system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and prepare requisitions for the regional head office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports and manage the branch vault in coordination with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, explain repayment schedules, promote cross‑selling opportunities and educate customers on alternate channels.

Required profile

• Graduation in any discipline, preferably Finance/Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions.
• Experience with financial modules/ERP for entry consolidation.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
