Branch Cashier – Banking Operations

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role supports smooth daily cash flow, accurate record‑keeping, and high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and maintain related system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and asset registers, and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage vault operations jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, provide product information, and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory requirements, and bank policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity, verify deposit slip accuracy, and update passbooks as needed.
