BIM Specialist

About the role

AECOM India is looking for a dynamic Mechanical BIM Specialist to join its Chennai office. The position offers the chance to work on technically challenging, internationally recognised projects across multiple infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and coordinate detailed 3D BIM models for HVAC, piping, mechanical equipment and related systems using Revit MEP.
• Produce construction documentation – plans, sections, elevations, schedules and detailed drawings – directly from BIM models.
• Generate BOQs and material take‑offs from Revit models and prepare coordinated production drawings in line with BIM Execution Plans.
• Manage drawing sets, revisions, mark‑ups and document control, delivering outputs in PDF, DWG and hard‑copy formats.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary models, perform model federation, geo‑location and clash detection using Navisworks.
• Conduct BIM reviews, quality checks, model audits and lead coordination workshops.
• Support BIM standards, workflows and best‑practice implementation, including use of Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Create visualisations, renderings and presentation material as required.

Required profile

• Diploma, B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of BIM modelling experience in Mechanical Building Services.
• Experience on large‑scale projects such as data centres, healthcare, aviation, semiconductor or commercial facilities.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and meet schedule commitments.
