Bank Cashier – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch by handling cash, maintaining registers, and providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and forward requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, reconcile transactions, and prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, explain repayment dates, promote new products and encourage use of alternate channels.
• Count and verify cash at the start and end of each day before vaulting.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slips for audit compliance.

Required profile

• Ability to provide courteous and efficient customer service.
• Capability to handle cash, vault keys and other valuables responsibly.
• Understanding of banking regulations and internal compliance procedures.
