Bank Cashier (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for handling all cash‑related transactions at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role supports smooth branch operations through accurate processing, reconciliation and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and asset registers; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, end‑of‑day reconciliation and prepare branch cash reports.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and safeguard cash, keys and valuables with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, explain repayment dates and promote bank products.
• Educate customers on alternate channels for deposits, withdrawals and inquiries.
• Ensure adherence to transaction turnaround times and compliance with all banking regulations.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slips for audit purposes.
