Bank Cashier (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the efficient functioning of the branch by handling cash, maintaining registers, and providing superior customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, issuing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward cash registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports and ensure accurate vault operations jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, address queries, cross‑sell products, and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Count and verify cash at the start and end of the day, safeguard cash, keys and valuables.
• Adhere to transaction turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies.
