Bank Cashier (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role includes accurate processing of deposits, withdrawals, and end‑of‑day reconciliations while delivering courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain corresponding system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and asset registers; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day branch reports, and ensure accurate vault operations jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during transactions, identify cross‑selling opportunities, and inform them about new products and services.
• Provide superior customer service, address queries, and educate customers on alternative banking channels.
• Count and verify cash at the start and end of each day, safeguard cash, keys and valuables in safe custody.
• Adhere to defined turnaround times, comply with all regulations and bank policies, and validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to assist and advise customers.
• Ability to follow banking guidelines, regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
• Reliability in maintaining registers, reports and vault security.
