Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain and update inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, and asset registers.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and ensure vault operations with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, address queries, cross‑sell bank products, and promote alternate channels for transactions.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle cash accurately.
• Excellent customer service skills with a courteous approach.
• Understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with branch staff and maintain vault security.
