Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions at the branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports smooth branch operations through accurate cash handling, customer service, and end‑of‑day reconciliation.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote bank products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with transaction turnaround times, banking regulations, and internal policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; banking or cash‑handling experience preferred.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a branch environment.
