Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and provides courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedule and maintain corresponding system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash register, assets register and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports and ensure vault operations are conducted jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑sell opportunities and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Count and verify cash at the start and end of the day, safeguard cash, keys and valuables.
• Adhere to defined turnaround times, regulatory compliance and bank policies for all cashier operations.

Required profile
