Band 5 Staff Nurse – Stroke & Palliative Care

About the role
This internal vacancy is for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Border Stroke and Margaret Kerr Units. The position offers 23 hours per week and is open to current NHS Scotland staff with an adult RGN qualification.
Key responsibilities
- Provide nursing care on a 14‑bed stroke unit, including post‑thrombectomy patients.
- Deliver palliative and end‑of‑life care on the 8‑bed Margaret Kerr ward.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure person‑centred care.
- Adapt to a varied and unpredictable workload across day, night and weekend shifts.
Required profile
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with experience or interest in stroke or palliative care.
- Ability to work flexibly in a fast‑changing clinical environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
