Baggage Screening Supervisor

About the role

The Baggage Screening Supervisor ensures safe and efficient screening of hold baggage at the airport, complying with all regulatory standards and detecting prohibited items or security threats. This role involves operating advanced screening equipment, documenting findings, and interacting with passengers and security staff to uphold the highest security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate X‑BIS equipment for image analysis to detect dangerous goods, prohibited articles, weapons, or ammunition in check‑in baggage.
• Perform physical inspections and ETD tests on baggage flagged during X‑ray screening.
• Maintain high Threat Image Projection (TIP) scores to demonstrate strong image interpretation capabilities.
• Follow BCAS and DGCA guidelines, ensuring strict compliance during baggage handling and inspection.
• Record and document all findings to meet audit and inspection requirements.
• Conduct routine pre‑operational checks of X‑BIS, ETD, CT‑EDS and other security equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions or downtime and assist in maintaining operational registers.
• Collaborate with CISF and airline staff during physical inspections or suspicious item resolutions.
• Provide timely updates to supervisors about ongoing operations or issues requiring intervention.

Required profile

• Completion of all mandatory regulatory trainings and clearances.
• Strong knowledge of aviation security directives and airport operational procedures.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast‑paced airport environment.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills for interaction with stakeholders.
