Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Omnissa is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help build and scale its AI‑driven digital work platform. You will join a fast‑growing team that delivers secure, flexible, work‑from‑anywhere experiences for enterprises worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain reliable, reusable code for core platform services.
• Improve scalability, resilience and performance of backend components.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and code‑quality issues.
• Own engineering initiatives and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, security engineers and external partners to define solutions.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, test automation and debugging.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best‑practice standards.

Required profile

• 2‑10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL data modeling, indexing, partitioning, replication and query optimization.
• Hands‑on experience managing production PostgreSQL clusters (performance tuning, monitoring, backup/restore, high availability).
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux environments.
• Solid experience in Python development.
• Familiarity with Docker and Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform.
• Understanding of high‑performance, scalable distributed systems and software architecture.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams.
