Backend Engineer – Up to 35 LPA

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to help build and scale core systems for a fast‑growing VC‑backed Food and Agriculture Tech startup. You will design robust APIs, own critical infrastructure, and contribute to a platform that is expanding rapidly across the retail sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Build scalable, reliable microservices.
• Collaborate with frontend and product teams to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code.
• Participate in system design discussions and architecture decisions.
• Debug production issues and improve system stability.
• Work with relational databases, optimize queries for performance.
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices.

Required profile

• 2+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong programming skills in at least one backend language (Java, Python, Node.js, Go, etc.).
• Good understanding of REST APIs and basic backend architecture.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Git and version‑control workflows.
• Understanding of basic data structures and algorithms.
