Backend Engineer — Object-Oriented Architecture

About the role
The Backend Engineer will own the quality of speech‑to‑text (STT) and text‑to‑speech (TTS) pipelines for Indian languages on our voice platform. You will focus on latency, code‑switching handling, and telephony‑grade audio processing to ensure reliable, real‑time performance.
Key responsibilities
- Fine‑tune and evaluate ASR/TTS models for Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and English code‑mixed speech.
- Build offline evaluation sets and regression tests for each model release.
- Collaborate with the backend team to enable streaming inference at 8–16 kHz.
- Document model cards, failure modes, and language‑specific tuning guidelines.
Required profile
- B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working on speech or natural language processing projects.
- Proven ability to ship machine‑learning models to production environments.
Required skills
- Python programming.
- Experience with PyTorch or a comparable deep‑learning framework.
