Backend Engineer (Java/Spring Boot)

About the role

Delivery Hero India is looking for a Backend Engineer to design, develop and maintain high‑performance backend services that power its food‑delivery platform. The role focuses on Java‑based micro‑services built with Spring Boot and serves both web and mobile applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop, version and document RESTful APIs for front‑end and mobile consumption.
• Collaborate with product managers, front‑end developers and other stakeholders in an agile environment.
• Manage relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit tests and maintain technical documentation.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot critical issues and propose architectural improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, asynchronous data flows and event‑driven architectures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
