Back End Developer

About the role

As a Back End Developer at ComplyDP you will design and implement the connector layer that discovers personal data across enterprise environments without ever copying client data. The role focuses on read‑only access to on‑prem and cloud systems, ensuring secure, outbound‑only integration.

Key responsibilities

• Build read‑only connectors for cloud storage, SQL/NoSQL databases and SaaS APIs.
• Develop on‑prem agents for SQL Server, Oracle, file shares, Active Directory and other legacy systems, operating outbound‑only.
• Implement schema and metadata introspection to identify personal‑data columns without reading actual records.
• Detect India‑specific identifiers (Aadhaar, PAN, GSTIN) using pattern and checksum logic.
• Map vendor and data‑exchange flows to surface undeclared personal‑data movements.
• Analyze repository configurations to surface hidden data flows.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of backend engineering experience with strong third‑party API integration.
• Deep expertise in Python, especially asyncio, FastAPI and SQLAlchemy.
• Hands‑on experience with production OAuth 2.0 flows (authorization code, client credentials, token refresh, webhook verification).
• Proficiency in database metadata introspection (information_schema, pg_catalog) and read‑only role provisioning.
• Fluent with REST APIs, pagination, rate‑limiting, back‑off and idempotency.
• Solid Docker skills and understanding of Linux networking constraints in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Azure or AWS secrets management and managed identities.
• Strong security instinct for handling read‑only access to regulated enterprises.
