Back End Developer – Full-time, On-site in Mumbai

About the role

We are looking for a full-time Back End Developer to join ZILO’s technology team in Mumbai. You will build and maintain the server-side components that power our fast-fashion delivery platform, ensuring high performance, scalability and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain APIs and micro-services that support the ZILO marketplace.
• Integrate third-party services and payment gateways.
• Optimize database queries, implement caching strategies and monitor application performance.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers and designers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable code and conduct code reviews.
• Apply security best practices, manage authentication/authorization and ensure system scalability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in server-side languages such as Node.js, Java or Python.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and micro-services architecture.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, caching and performance optimization.
• Understanding of security best practices, authentication and authorization.
• Solid grasp of object-oriented programming concepts.
