Azure DevOps Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure & CI/CD

About the role

We are seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for our client. The successful candidate will work independently, own the environments they manage, and communicate technical solutions clearly to client stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, provision, and manage Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform).
• Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins for automated build, test and deployment.
• Manage source‑control practices (Git) including branching strategies, pull requests and code reviews.
• Configure and maintain containerised environments with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
• Set up monitoring, logging and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights.
• Implement security best practices – Azure AD/Entra ID, RBAC, network security, secrets management with Key Vault.
• Automate operational tasks with PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Ensure configuration consistency across dev, test, staging and production environments.
• Monitor cloud costs and recommend optimisation (rightsizing, reserved instances, cleanup).
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment and pipeline issues and drive root‑cause resolution.
• Collaborate with development and client teams to plan releases, manage rollbacks and maintain documentation.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years of hands‑on DevOps/Cloud engineering experience with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong communication skills; able to work directly with client stakeholders.
• Proactive ownership mindset and ability to work independently.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent practical experience preferred.
• Azure certifications (e.g., AZ‑104, AZ‑400, AZ‑500) are a strong plus.
