About the role
We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Operations Engineer to provide hands‑on L2/L3 support for secure, reliable and cost‑aware AWS environments. The role involves managing production and non‑production resources, monitoring, incident response, security controls and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Build and support on‑demand AWS infrastructure using approved patterns (Accounts, Organizations, VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, Route 53, ELB, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Config, Systems Manager, Backup, KMS).
- Maintain inventory, tagging, configuration visibility and platform health across managed environments.
- Monitor availability, performance, capacity and service health; respond to alerts and restore services.
- Own incident triage, major incident management, root‑cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Operate identity, access, network and security controls following least‑privilege and audit requirements.
- Support OS patching, platform updates, scheduled reboots, backup verification, certificate/secret lifecycle and infrastructure maintenance.
- Detect configuration drift, policy violations and vulnerabilities; coordinate remediation through controlled change.
- Automate tasks using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and scripting (Python/PowerShell) to improve consistency.
- Assist with disaster‑recovery readiness, continuity testing and documentation.
- Identify utilization and cost‑optimization opportunities without compromising resilience.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- 5–10 years of overall IT experience with at least 3 years of hands‑on AWS operations in enterprise production environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident‑management and service‑restoration ownership.
- Security‑focused mindset with experience in least‑privilege access, compliance and audit processes.
- Ability to participate in rotational on‑call support and planned maintenance windows.
Required skills
- AWS core services: Accounts, Organizations, VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, Route 53, ELB, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Config, Systems Manager, Backup, KMS.
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Scripting: Python, PowerShell.
- Version control: Git.
- Operating systems: Windows and Linux.
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, certificates.
- ITSM processes: incident, change, problem and service‑level management.
