AVP/Sr. Director Supply Chain – Materials – Semiconductor

About the role

Lead the end‑to‑end material procurement and supply‑chain function for a greenfield semiconductor wafer fab. You will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted availability, quality, compliance and cost‑effectiveness of all direct and indirect materials required for process qualification, ramp‑up and steady‑state production.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, negotiate long‑term contracts and secure critical material supply.
• Define and execute a global sourcing strategy aligned to the Process of Record, ramp‑up curve, capacity plans and yield/contamination requirements.
• Establish single‑ vs multi‑sourcing philosophies, develop local vs global sourcing road‑maps and segment risk‑based sourcing.
• Lead supplier identification, qualification, onboarding and maintain Approved Vendor and Material Lists.
• Coordinate with Process Engineering, Quality and EHS on material specifications, change control and contamination risk assessments.
• Negotiate volume commitments, price protection, consignment, VMI and performance‑based pricing contracts.
• Ensure Day‑1 readiness for line‑qualification materials, process‑characterisation lots and engineering wafers.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in supply‑chain or materials management for semiconductor fabs.
• Strong track record of building a resilient, compliant materials supply ecosystem from scratch.
• Deep understanding of semiconductor‑specific materials such as chemicals, gases, consumables, wafers, reticles and clean‑room supplies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage geopolitical, logistics and contamination risks.
• Excellent negotiation and contract‑management capabilities.
