Associate – US Tax Preparation

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated U.S. 1040 Tax Preparer to assist in the preparation of federal and state individual income tax returns. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in U.S. personal tax compliance, a strong grasp of Forms 1040, 1041 and related schedules, and the ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare U.S. federal and state individual income tax returns (Form 1040) for high‑net‑worth individuals, business owners, and expatriates.
• Complete supporting forms and schedules (e.g., Schedules A, B, C, D, E, 1116, 2555, 8938, FBAR/FinCEN 114, etc.).
• Review tax documentation provided by clients and organize workpapers.
• Perform basic tax research and apply appropriate tax treatments.
• Ensure returns comply with IRS regulations and client‑specific instructions.
• Collaborate with seniors and managers for review and feedback.
• Meet internal deadlines and productivity targets during peak tax season.
• Maintain data confidentiality and ensure quality control.
• Use tax software such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or similar.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in U.S. Individual Tax return preparation (Form 1040).
• Familiarity with IRS forms and instructions relevant to personal taxation.
• Working knowledge of U.S. tax software tools (Sure Prep, Ultra Tax, CCH, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
