Associate Software Engineer (Backend)

About the role

Medanta’s Digital Platform & Engineering team is looking for an Associate Software Engineer (Backend) to build and ship reliable backend services that power patient journeys, clinical workflows, and hospital operations. You will work on a high‑calibre, product‑focused team in a fast‑moving environment where healthcare quality is paramount.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy backend services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot) or Python (FastAPI).
• Contribute to reusable platform components such as payments, scheduling, unified patient records, and AI‑enabled services.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and senior engineers to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration processes to ensure high quality and security.
• Support integration with national digital health standards (e.g., ABDM, FHIR) and interoperability initiatives.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong computer‑science fundamentals and a passion for building production‑grade software.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently and contribute in a small, high‑performing team.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail, especially in a regulated healthcare environment.
