Associate Professor / Professor – BCA & MCA (Computer Applications)

About the role

Dayananda Sagar University is seeking an experienced academic to join its School of Computer Applications as an Associate Professor or Professor for the BCA and MCA programmes. The role involves delivering high‑quality teaching, advancing research, and supporting the department’s academic and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate (BCA) and postgraduate (MCA) courses in computer applications and related subjects.
• Develop and continuously update lecture materials, laboratory manuals, and learning resources.
• Assess student performance through exams, assignments, projects and provide mentorship for academic and career development.
• Conduct research in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, or Software Engineering and publish in indexed journals.
• Guide student research projects, dissertations and seek external research funding.
• Participate in curriculum design, accreditation activities (NAAC, NBA) and develop industry‑oriented certification modules.
• Establish collaborations with industry partners, facilitate internships, guest lectures, workshops and placement activities.
• Contribute to departmental committees, admissions, examinations and university‑wide initiatives.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• A strong record of research publications in reputable Scopus/Web of Science indexed journals.
• Ability to mentor students and supervise research projects.
• Willingness to engage with industry and contribute to curriculum development and accreditation processes.
