Associate Production Welder / Fabrication Fitter

About the role

The Fabrication Fitter is responsible for assembling, fitting, and fabricating metal components and structures according to technical drawings and specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various tools and machinery to produce high‑quality fabricated products.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fitting requirements.
• Assemble and fit metal parts by aligning, grinding, and adjusting components to ensure proper fit.
• Mark, measure, and cut materials accurately before assembly.
• Use hand tools, power tools, gas cutting equipment, grinders, drills, and fitting equipment.
• Assist in welding preparation and ensure parts are correctly positioned prior to welding.
• Inspect assembled components for defects or misalignment and make necessary adjustments.
• Collaborate with fabrication and welding teams to meet project deadlines.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and operate grinding machines for chamfering.
• Apply lean manufacturing practices such as 5S, TPM, and Kaizen to maintain a safe and clean workplace.

Required profile

• ITI fitter / Diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in heavy fabrication or pressure‑vessel fabrication.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and EHS guidelines in a fabrication environment.
