Associate Partner – M&A (Funds & Financial Services Tax)

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Partner to lead M&A and tax advisory services for funds and financial services clients in Bengaluru. The role involves end‑to‑end advisory on fund structuring, regulatory compliance, and transaction execution for a diverse portfolio of institutional investors and fund managers.

Key responsibilities

• Scope, plan and resource engagements, defining deliverables, milestones, team composition and fee structures.
• Manage multiple simultaneous engagements, ensuring quality control and risk mitigation across complex advisory matters.
• Lead technical advisory on AIFs, REITs, InvITs, offshore vehicles and related tax-efficient entry/exit strategies.
• Provide guidance on SEBI, FEMA, RBI, IFSCA regulations, FATCA/CRS compliance and treaty interpretation.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (tax tech, legal, compliance, finance) and external advisors (counsel, fund administrators, custodians, auditors).
• Oversee the preparation of opinion letters, transaction memos, regulatory submissions and board presentations to Tier‑1 standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in fund structuring, M&A tax advisory and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Indian securities regulations, international tax treaties and FATCA/CRS requirements.
• Proven ability to manage large, multi‑party mandates and maintain high client satisfaction.
