Associate Manager – Product Design

About the role

Bitwarden is building a secure, open‑source identity platform and is expanding its India Engineering Center of Excellence. As an Associate Manager of Product Design you will lead a small team of designers while continuing to contribute hands‑on to product design initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and grow a small team of product designers, conducting 1:1s and fostering a collaborative culture.
• Partner with product managers and engineering leads to set design priorities, align roadmaps and advocate for user experience.
• Contribute directly to initiatives by creating user flows, wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups and prototypes.
• Facilitate design critiques, reviews and user‑research sessions to ensure high‑quality, accessible outcomes.
• Drive cross‑functional alignment by communicating design rationale to stakeholders and leadership.
• Maintain and evolve Bitwarden’s design system across desktop, mobile, web and browser extensions.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of product design experience with some informal leadership or mentorship.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UI craft, systems thinking and cross‑platform problem solving.
• Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with design/development tools such as Adobe, GitHub, Replit, ChatGPT, Claude, V0 and Loveable.
• Experience planning and facilitating user research, testing sessions and design critiques.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a collaborative mindset.
• Passion for open‑source software and improving internet security.
