Associate Manager – Direct Tax

About the role

The Associate Manager – Direct Tax is responsible for timely and accurate direct tax compliance for all Lubrizol Group legal entities operating in India. The role covers filing tax returns, preparing exhaustive tax audit reports, managing transfer‑pricing compliance, and handling withholding tax deductions and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Handle filing of Income Tax Returns, tax audits, transfer‑pricing returns and related assessments.
• Manage tax return, filing and transfer‑pricing activities for overseas Lubrizol group companies in India.
• Prepare and submit information to the direct tax authority for assessment or reassessment notices.
• Review inter‑company transfer pricing and coordinate with the global Transfer Pricing manager to resolve issues.
• Advise on regulatory changes in direct tax and international taxation to mitigate exposure.
• Guide the Accounts Payable team on withholding‑tax regulations and set up withholding‑tax mechanisms in SAP.
• Provide US GAAP tax schedules to the US corporate tax department and prepare tax provisions for local statutory accounts.
• Issue quarterly withholding‑tax certificates, e‑file returns and reconcile WHT with customers and Form 26AS.
• Follow up with tax authorities on orders, rectifications, refunds and related matters.
• Perform foreign‑remittance tax compliance and compute quarterly advance tax.

Required profile

• CA qualification with 3–6 years of relevant experience.
• CA Intermediate or MBA (Finance) with 7–10 years of relevant experience.
