Associate Finance Controller

About the role

The Associate Finance Controller will support Maersk’s accounting operations by ensuring accurate day‑to‑day financial transactions and compliance with accounting standards. This role focuses on cost and budget accounting, as well as accounts payable and receivable processes.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate and analyse direct and indirect costs, performing actual vs. budget variance analysis.
• Develop, monitor and report on annual revenue and expense budgets.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including billing and invoicing.
• Apply accounting principles and standards to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide coaching and informal supervision to junior staff and oversee lower‑level professional work.
• Contribute to project management and influence tactical financial decisions.

Required profile

• Relevant work experience in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budget accounting and AP/AR processes.
• Ability to work independently within defined guidelines while seeking supervision for complex tasks.
• Effective communication and mentoring skills.
