Associate Director – Markets Non-Financial Risk

About the role

ANZ is looking for an Associate Director to lead the Markets Non‑Financial Risk (NFR) function. You will head a dedicated team that supports the broader Markets NFR group in managing non‑financial risk across the global Markets business, ensuring compliance with enterprise risk standards and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and retain talent within the Markets NFR team.
• Provide governance and oversight for non‑financial risk in line with enterprise risk management standards.
• Design and implement divisional governance artefacts such as attestations, aggregated risk profiles, risk reviews and issue tracking.
• Support thematic reviews and internal audits conducted by second and third lines of defence.
• Deliver data‑driven insights across end‑to‑end business and customer journeys.
• Act as a trusted strategic partner, promoting a strong risk culture within the Markets business.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in non‑financial risk, governance or related risk functions.
• Strong understanding of regulatory expectations for market‑related activities.
• Ability to translate complex risk data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing cross‑functional teams and driving risk‑focused initiatives.
