Associate Director – Civil Engineering

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead complex civil engineering projects in Mumbai. The role involves overseeing site grading, drainage, and infrastructure design across multiple sectors while ensuring compliance with Indian and international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site grading layout, development work and design of storm‑water drainage, sanitary and chemical sewer systems.
• Coordinate underground services, tankage area layouts and prepare asphalt, concrete road and RC pavement designs.
• Manage client communication, multidisciplinary BIM coordination and cross‑functional project teams.
• Provide technical guidance for projects in data‑centre, commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial and aviation sectors.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of experience on civil infrastructure projects of similar size and scope.
• Experience in at least two of the following sectors: data‑centre, commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial, aviation.
• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Hydraulics (master’s preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Indian codes; familiarity with US, BS and Eurocodes is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo and Python scripting.
• Advanced Excel for design sheets and macros.
• Experience with BIM coordination tools such as Civil 3D, Navisworks and Revit.
• Familiarity with Sewer Gem, Water Gem, ArcGIS, HEC‑RAS and HEC‑HMS.
