Associate Data Engineer

About the role

As an Associate Data Engineer you will design, build and maintain cloud‑based data solutions that enable the analytics team to uncover trends and drive long‑term business performance at Mondelēz International. You will work with best‑in‑class partners and internal stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure and cost‑effective data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement scalable, secure cloud data solutions on AWS and Databricks, ensuring cost‑effectiveness and compliance with data governance standards.
• Design, build and maintain robust ETL pipelines that extract, transform and load data into enterprise data warehouses or data lakes, supporting analytical workloads.
• Implement comprehensive data quality and validation checks to guarantee data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all sources.
• Optimize data processing and storage performance by applying the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and tuning Spark jobs.
• Collaborate closely with data product managers, modelers, analysts and external partners to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of hands‑on data engineering experience in a corporate or consulting environment.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark and SQL for building data pipelines and transformations.
• Experience with core AWS services such as S3, Lambda, EC2, Glue and Redshift for storage, compute and orchestration.
• Familiarity with Databricks notebooks, Lakeflow jobs and Airflow for workflow scheduling and automation.
