Associate Counsel – Legal (Hyderabad)

About the role

Schrödinger is seeking an Associate Counsel to join its Hyderabad office. The role will provide legal guidance across technology, commercial, employment, data privacy, real‑estate and intellectual‑property matters, supporting the company’s mission to improve human health through advanced computational methods.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted legal advisor to internal partners, delivering clear guidance on legal and commercial risks.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including vendor contracts, MSAs, NDAs, licensing, technology collaborations and CRO documents.
• Develop and maintain legal templates, playbooks, policies and contracting workflows to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with global functions such as Sales, Finance, IT and Compliance to align legal support with business objectives.
• Monitor legal, regulatory and industry developments in SaaS, AI/ML, software licensing and data privacy, and communicate implications.
• Design and deliver training programs on legal topics, risk management and best‑practice contracting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law.
• 8‑10 years of generalist legal experience, with substantial work on commercial and technology transactions.
• Strong knowledge of data‑privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual‑property and open‑source licensing issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, critical thinking and analytical abilities.
• Team‑player mindset with the ability to work across functions and time zones.
• Growth mindset and desire to continuously up‑skill.
