Associate Corporate Counsel (India)

About the role

AHEAD is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel in India to provide practical, commercially‑focused legal support to its sales, operations and cross‑functional teams. The role involves handling a broad portfolio of technology‑related agreements and ensuring compliance with Indian employment and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, revise and negotiate a wide range of IT and technology‑related agreements, including reseller, distribution, OEM, master services, SaaS, cloud, licensing and data‑processing contracts.
• Develop negotiation strategies, identify business objectives, explain trade‑offs and drive matters to timely resolution while ensuring operational feasibility.
• Maintain contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks and approval workflows; track contractual obligations, renewals, notices and compliance deliverables.
• Provide risk‑based legal advice, conduct legal research and monitor regulatory developments affecting technology services, privacy, employment and other compliance areas.
• Support external counsel with instructions, budgeting and work‑product management.
• Advise internal stakeholders on Indian central and state employment laws, labour codes, Shops and Establishments requirements, wages, social security, maternity leave, contractor arrangements and related registrations.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in commercial contracts and technology‑focused agreements.
• Demonstrated ability to advise on Indian employment law and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical and communication skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
