Associate Attorney – Litigation Support (Mumbai)

About the role

We are looking for an Associate Attorney to join the offshore Legal and Compliance Department in Mumbai. The role supports Morgan Stanley's Wealth Management business by providing litigation assistance, handling subpoenas, arbitrations, and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide litigation support to paralegals and attorneys for customer complaints, arbitrations, subpoenas, and regulatory issues.
• Retrieve and manage documents from paper and electronic sources across multiple firm systems.
• Ensure compliance with Legal Department policies for litigation holds and document tracking.
• Organize, redact, and stage documents for production.
• Prepare reports, MIS, and perform quality control and audit checks.
• Manage daily task flow through effective queue and SLA management.
• Present progress updates and process improvements to management on a monthly/quarterly basis.

Required profile

• LLB (Law) qualified.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant legal or compliance experience.
• Experience in a professional environment, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Advanced Excel skills, including macro development.
