Assistant Professor / Professor of Practice – Chemical Engineering & Materials Science

About the role

We are seeking qualified academics to join the Department of Chemical Engineering / Materials Science and Engineering at MIT‑WPU, Pune. The position is open for Assistant Professor, Professor, and Professor of Practice to deliver high‑quality teaching, guide research, and support curriculum development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and tutorials in core chemical engineering and materials science subjects such as fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, reaction engineering, process control, plant design, material structure, phase transformations, and nanomaterials.
• Conduct laboratory sessions in unit operations, process simulation (Aspen Plus, MATLAB) and materials characterization (XRD, SEM, mechanical testing, metallography).
• Develop and update curricula in line with industry advances and standards.
• Design and set examination papers, evaluate student performance, and supervise capstone and research projects.
• Organise seminars, workshops, industrial visits, and training programs to enhance student exposure to process, petrochemical, aerospace, automotive, and electronics sectors.
• Lead research activities, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and secure funding through proposals to agencies such as DST, CSIR, and SERB.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.
• Strong research record with publications in reputable journals.
• Ability to develop curricula and engage with industry partners.
