About the role

The Jyoti Dalal School of Liberal Arts (JDSOLA) at NMIMS University seeks an Assistant Professor of Philosophy to join its Mumbai campus. The position focuses on undergraduate teaching in Indian and Continental Philosophy, Indian Knowledge Systems, Political Philosophy, academic writing, and research methodology.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate lectures and tutorials in accordance with UGC guidelines.
• Develop and update curriculum, design electives, and contribute to institutional strategy.
• Mentor students, supervise projects, and support academic discipline.
• Engage in research, publish in peer‑reviewed or UGC‑listed journals, and present papers at funded conferences.
• Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary activities, including conferences and industry‑linked learning.

Required profile

• Master’s degree with at least 55% (or equivalent) from an Indian or accredited foreign university.
• Cleared UGC NET/CSIR or equivalent; candidates with a Ph.D. may be exempted.
• Minimum two publications in SCI‑indexed or UGC‑listed journals.
• Desirable: Ph.D. with up to two years of teaching/research experience and presentation of at least two conference papers based on Ph.D. work.
